Overview   Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) is the oldest veterinary college in Canada and the US. Founded in Toronto in 1862, the College moved to Guelph in 1922. 

Today more than 400 students are enrolled in the professional DVM Program and approximately 175 in graduate programs. Dedicated to the advancement of veterinary and comparative medicine, OVC faculty members have a distinguished international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and service. 

The Ontario Veterinary College is accredited by the Canadian and American Veterinary Medical Associations and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom.


OVC Teaching Hospital
(OVCTH)
  The OVCTH supports the academic mission of the College in teaching and research, and as a comprehensive referral hospital to the animal owning public. Approximately 15,000 patients are referred to the OVCTH each year by private veterinarians. website


Graduate Degrees  
degrees offered   Department of Biomedical Sciences offers the following degree programs: Master of Science (MSc), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc). 

Department of Clinical Studies offers three graduate programs, the Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc), Master of Science (MSc) and the Graduate Diploma.

Department Pathobiology The department offers programs of study leading to MSc and PhD degrees and a Graduate Diploma. The department also participates in the inter-departmental Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc) program.

Department of Population Medicine: The department offers a MSc program in epidemiology, theriogenology, swine health management, and medicine and a course-work MSc program in epidemiology. The DVSc program is offered in epidemiology, theriogenology and health management. A PhD program is available in epidemiology. A Masters in Public Health (MPH) is also offered.
